The first residential lots on record are not on the main entrance road. They are in the "Map of Section No. 2, Brierwood Golf Club Estates," dated April 1969 at a scale of 1 inch to 100 feet, drawn by the registered land surveyor V. W. Herlevich of Wilmington, and recorded on May 1, 1969 at 2:00 p.m. in Map Book 9, Page 94.
The sheet shows 23 numbered lots arranged around Queens Grant Circle and along Willow Run Drive, with the fairway of the No. 1 hole, a lake and two culverts drawn beside them, and a 20-foot access road at the western edge. Fairways are marked on three sides of the lots, a reminder that the houses and the golf course were planned together from the start.

Section 2 comes before Section 1 in time. The community's history explains why: the original aim was the golf course, but sales of the Queens Grant lots paid for the first nine holes, which were playable by the end of 1969. The article Queen's Grant Circle Came First tells that story.
The Declaration recorded eleven weeks earlier, on February 12, names lots 1 through 17 on a different, unrecorded map. Its lots are not the lots on this sheet. (The Section 1 map, recorded in 1972, turns out to carry the same month, August 1968, as that earlier Willow Run map. The next chapter looks at that.)
Today these are among the oldest lots in the community. On the plat sections map in the last chapter, Section 2 is the green group of 22 parcels near the center of the map.
